He was pretty fucked up already they should have stopped them about 20 seconds before he went down but you're right him going to the body was the kindest thing he could have done . One fight gets stopped waaaaayy early then yiu have shit like this I don't know how you're in the cage right there with the guys and fuck up as much as these refs do there shouldn't be so many bad and good stoppages there really needs to be some consistency

I think the ref was looking for a spot to stop it TBF. I didn't see anything that stood out as a clear stoppage until he went down. Don't get me wrong, the accumulation was worrying but if the fighters on their feet and defending themselves then u gotta let it go imo

I'm really not sure why people are saying this. What are you seeing that gives you this impression? Alex was being absolutely clinical and savage. Placing his shots and finding the openings. He went to the body because it was open, and as soon as Khalil dropped his hands, Alex went back to the head with an uppercut. Where are you seeing mercy here? Because Alex wasn't swinging wild like a fool? This is just good fight IQ.
@mypethooligan

@@BodTheGrinchmore than 10 people have posted and said Alex slowed down to take it easy on Khali and here you are saying he didn’t. What fight did you watch? Because Alex clearly did show him mercy and didn’t go in hard too much at the end.

@BodTheGrinch 2 ай бұрын
@@mypethooliganYour proof that Alex showed mercy is that 10 people think he did? Are you actually serious? Billions of people think some kind of god exists. Does that mean it's true? Wowzers. The IQ of people around here is quite something.

As a dance teacher, i notice that Pereira insists on staying on the off beat of the opponent's rhythm. He is never in rhythm with them and its disconcerting to even watch. Its like he is moving in the blindspots of the brain.

@@Jamie-wh3kd imagine you take 4 steps in 8 counts as 1,skip,3,skip,5,skip,7,skip. You will notice where i have placed the "skips of the step" are on the even counts 2,4,6,8. So Pereira insists on taking his steps on those even counts as the opponent is resetting their balance for their next step. Generally if you watch most fighters, they are in sync with their opponents. Its very disconcerting for the other fighter....but if a fighter is intelligent enough to notice it he can get caught. Thats how Adesanya knocked him out. He switched his own rhythm to the offbeat

Man, constant pressure by sheer proximity from Pereira to mentally psyche out Roundtree and cause him to be more aggressive and waste more energy in rounds 1 and 2, then when he sensed Roundtree slowing and weakening in Round 3, Pereira moves in for the harder hits. The scariest thing about Poatan is that no fighter his size should be able to move out of the way of shots the way he does. Spider Silva was legendary for his movement and evasion at 185... until he wasn't quite fast enough anymore and Weidman slept him. Seeing Poatan doing that and MORE against bigger, longer guys at 205 is just ridiculous... Khalil was throwing clean, uncontested punches and Alex was literally just floating backwards out of range of them before they could land. Shit ain't natural...

Near the end it looked like alex was trying to avoid straight punches. He even went for a knee but didn't follow through.

I think it's safe to say that khalil had no idea how much of a difference there would be in the later stages because they looked like two cars in a race with completely different engines and I even felt sorry for khalil at the end because he had absolutely nothing left to give and he had a good idea of what was about to happen to him and he couldn't do a single thing about it. I think a lot of people had faith that khalil would have a good chance against Alex but oh how they were wrong in the worst way. They were fighters on two different levels that night. I tip my hat to khalil for the balls to get in there with Alex and for having a good go, but it takes a surprising blow that he didn't see coming or a special fighter to get Pereira out of there and I think it's gonna be that way for a couple more years yet to be honest. Respect to both men as always. Great fight. God bless.

Roundtree has the heart of a lion. That man is a warrior he put up a much better fight than Jamal. Khalil needs another big money fight.

Yeah I was thinking at round 4 by the look on that guys face, he was exhausted and a little dazed by Pereira's punches. He was leaving his right side face more open to Pereira's fists. Glad the referee called it on Rd. 4. Started to feel bad for that guy and good judgment on Pereira not giving him more punches than what was given. Pereira's face looked hooked and focused on his opponent till the end. Round 1 was just testing each other. Knew Rd. 2 and on wasn't going to disappoint. LOL. Great fight from both.
