Everyone saying Brock was boring. He was 31 when he started fighting in the UFC. He didn't have a decade of experience like other 30+ year olds in the octagon. To do what he did without any professional fighting experience is astounding.

@nunyabidness3429

The laughing was probably due to the fact that he's competative in nature. It's not meant to really disrespect his opponent. Plus combined with the fact that people were talking all kinds of shit about Brock when he first went in the UFC. Heath also used to make fun of Brock for his WWE background in their pre-fight interviews. Brock is cocky but he ultimately will show respect to his opponent if it's mutual.

This is why I have more respect for strikers. When both fighters are standing up, there isn't a single thing that one fighter can do that the other fighter can't, and so it comes down to a battle of skills and athleticism. When you have your opponent on the ground and you're in an advantageous position, there's an entire ocean of things you can do that your opponent literally CAN'T do, regardless of skill. This is why wrestling is the best "martial art" in the world if you have plenty of time and you don't have to worry about anyone jumping in. Especially in the UFC, where you're awarded points for simply "controlling" your opponent, regardless of whether or not you're actually doing any damage or doing anything to finish the fight. You could be doing literally nothing other than controlling your opponent, and you can still win. It's patently absurd, of course, but it is what it is. That's the first thing I would change if I were Dana White for a day. Controlling your opponent wouldn't earn you any points by itself.

If Lesnar started training mma/ striking at 15 or so he'd be the best mma fighter ever. He is/was unreal. Dude had insane genetics and was probably around 285 pounds at fight time of pure muscle. He was a great wrestler. Insanely athletic. Insanely fast. The only thing he didn't have was above average striking or even good striking.

People love to bring up how he got whooped by Cain and Overeem but they completely ignore the fact Brock didn’t start training until he was 30 and became champ after only a few years of training and beat some legit guys. We will more than likely never see something like that again.

Brock has never KO'd anyone. Yes, he's stopped people with ground n pound, but, never actually KO'd anyone in the fashion that Dan Henderson or Rampage Jackson has. Once in a while, a freak of nature comes by, whose immense size and strength is enough to overcome style and technique. That was Brock Lesnar, and bc of that, he was good for the sport. My favorite fight of his, was his debut against Frank Mir. I viewed Mir in a new light that night as he was able to overcome getting his ass whooped, and staying focused enough to apply that knee bar, making Brock quit. That's a real warrior.

You're talking like Brock had anything resembling a full career. Guarantee someone was going to sleep before too many more fights.5 of GSP's first 6 fights were decisions before he started racking up some KO's.
@davesampson158

@fredspofford He was by far the strongest guy in the heavyweight division. Freakishly stronger than the competition. He landed plenty of punches on his opponents. No reason at all why he shouldn't have put someone's lights out with one shot. He didn't have "ko technique" in his punches. He also didn't receive punches well, like a true fighter does. He was jumpy and flinched when punches were thrown at him.
