@nunyabidness3429
@nunyabidness3429 5 ай бұрын
The laughing was probably due to the fact that he's competative in nature. It's not meant to really disrespect his opponent. Plus combined with the fact that people were talking all kinds of shit about Brock when he first went in the UFC. Heath also used to make fun of Brock for his WWE background in their pre-fight interviews. Brock is cocky but he ultimately will show respect to his opponent if it's mutual.

This is why I have more respect for strikers. When both fighters are standing up, there isn't a single thing that one fighter can do that the other fighter can't, and so it comes down to a battle of skills and athleticism. When you have your opponent on the ground and you're in an advantageous position, there's an entire ocean of things you can do that your opponent literally CAN'T do, regardless of skill. This is why wrestling is the best "martial art" in the world if you have plenty of time and you don't have to worry about anyone jumping in. Especially in the UFC, where you're awarded points for simply "controlling" your opponent, regardless of whether or not you're actually doing any damage or doing anything to finish the fight. You could be doing literally nothing other than controlling your opponent, and you can still win. It's patently absurd, of course, but it is what it is. That's the first thing I would change if I were Dana White for a day. Controlling your opponent wouldn't earn you any points by itself.

If Lesnar started training mma/ striking at 15 or so he'd be the best mma fighter ever. He is/was unreal. Dude had insane genetics and was probably around 285 pounds at fight time of pure muscle. He was a great wrestler. Insanely athletic. Insanely fast. The only thing he didn't have was above average striking or even good striking.

People love to bring up how he got whooped by Cain and Overeem but they completely ignore the fact Brock didn’t start training until he was 30 and became champ after only a few years of training and beat some legit guys. We will more than likely never see something like that again.

Brock has never KO'd anyone. Yes, he's stopped people with ground n pound, but, never actually KO'd anyone in the fashion that Dan Henderson or Rampage Jackson has. Once in a while, a freak of nature comes by, whose immense size and strength is enough to overcome style and technique. That was Brock Lesnar, and bc of that, he was good for the sport. My favorite fight of his, was his debut against Frank Mir. I viewed Mir in a new light that night as he was able to overcome getting his ass whooped, and staying focused enough to apply that knee bar, making Brock quit. That's a real warrior.

You're talking like Brock had anything resembling a full career. Guarantee someone was going to sleep before too many more fights.5 of GSP's first 6 fights were decisions before he started racking up some KO's.
@davesampson158
@davesampson158 5 ай бұрын
@fredspofford He was by far the strongest guy in the heavyweight division. Freakishly stronger than the competition. He landed plenty of punches on his opponents. No reason at all why he shouldn't have put someone's lights out with one shot. He didn't have "ko technique" in his punches. He also didn't receive punches well, like a true fighter does. He was jumpy and flinched when punches were thrown at him.

This fight showed the extent of Lesnar’s technical ability as an MMA fighter. He’s nowhere near as shrewd or fluid as Jon jones or Cain V etc but he utilises his strength, power and speed really well and enough to dominate his opponent. Interesting fight. Never knew brock did this fight.

I just turned 39yrs old. I been watching wrestling for 27+ years. Plus I have been through training in amateur wrestling to make it to the independent territory etc... does this make me an expert? Not at all. Hell i learned more from wrestling/MMA/UFC just by watching it then anything. Am I a Brock fan? In the WWE, not all time i was not. More of a Hayman fan than Brock. Am i a fan of him in UFC I would say yes. For the simple facts of one, he does watever it takes to try and win. Two, he tells it as he sees it, he speaks the truth. (For example the infamous beer scandal of bud light would not pay me enough) Lol Ig its fair to say im more of the heels kind of supporter. With that said in this fight yes he absolutely lived up to his name as the beast incarnan. However after he won the UFC championship when he stepped in the octagon with Cain let's just say it was like Cain was Brock and Brock was Heath lol he tore Brock's ass to pieces. I mean it was a complete embarrassment for Lesnar as he stumbled all around the octagon roll around being dazed and confused he got knocked back with that roll backwards flip just like he done Heath in this fight It almost like bad karma the irony in the two is crazy. Brock Lesnar was a incredible wrestler is a incredible wrestler NCAA champion he started young and the dude is just huge That is to his advantage because he is a grappler. He is not a face-to-face brawler as people can very well see. Brock would rather grapple with you get you on the ground cuz odds are once he does you won't get back up rather he submits you get you down and tires you out, or TKO you his best work is groundwork grappling. When he seen he could not take Cain down that he was not going to be that easy of an opponent to manhandle I think that's when the light bulb 💡 came one or went off 👊🏽 😂 however you want to look at it. The gash that was in his face cheekbone to be precise look like one of those damn machines you insert cash ($1 💵 ) in. It was that wide looking they did a great job with the close-up at the end of the match. Every time Brock would try to scoop cain came with back on his feet within a millisecond. You know how this generation of kids be playing fortnite and they always be saying quit spamming well that's exactly what Brock doesn't real life he'd be spamming his opponents always using the same technique of runs scoop take down beat down or submit down lol . I guess the next time I play UFC PlayStation game I pick Brock Lesnar and just start scooping everybody I play doing the same move over and over just and see if one of my kids talk about quit spamming lol
