Man, Ngannou was on point that night. He had it all in his game good footwork, controlling the pace, controlling the geography, feints, legs kicks, kicks, straight Jabs with combinations, body work, didnt over extend that much, solid takedown defense, his own takedown, patient and yet active, didn't load up like used to do. Great performance, pure Domination

Here after the fury/ngannou fight. This version of francis is one of the best fighters of all time. He was peaking. Sadly the knee injury before the gane fight hurt his progression. It's evident Francis is a fast learner the way he picked up English, wrestling and boxing.

Agreed, rarely anyone mentions his intelligence. He isn't just freakishly strong, but also learns really quickly and is tough as nails ( Stipe, Gane and Fury couldn't finish him)

Ngannou totally gave me vibes of the Sentinels from X-men. He's a fast learner and he really stepped up his game in the second fight. He improved a lot of things from their first encounter.

Stipe had a fantastic career, but the room at the top is incredibly cozy. Ngannou is a monster -- an absolute monster. I do think Stipe could win a trilogy, but it would involve a hell of a game plan and a bit of luck. Stipe is without a doubt a better all around fighter, but Francis is just an incredible specimen and you get hit too many times by him you can't maintain consciousness.

Ngannou has the best standup of any heavyweight I’ve ever seen. Nobody can box with him because they are scared of getting knocked out , and his leg kicks are sledgehammers . Ngannous biggest enemy is himself by gassing out or doing something silly

I'll never forget watching this fight: seeing Francis being very patient and letting the fight play out and then seeing him stuff Stiopic's first takedown. I leaped from my chair after Francis was still standing. I love Stipe but Francis levelled up to such a degree that his win was inevitable.

Considering he had Cormier, Usman, and 3 other wrestlers drilling take down defense with him and coming in 30 pounds heavier most pretty much knew Stipe was gonna be overwhelmed. Must've made Cormier happy to see Stipe lose with all the excuses he made after Stipe beat him.

Инфа про 15 кг - домыслы, а не факты. Нигде нет официальной инфы об этом. Бойцам платят не за то, что они "держатся", а за то, что они побеждают. Это был титульный бой. И Миочич абсолютно ничего в нем не показал, хотя являлся чемпионом. Поэтому предъявы к тому, что его переоценивали, взялись не на пустом месте.

It is not just that Francis learned from the first fight, Stipe had no idea what to do. He was fighting scared not a single attempt with his hands. The only takedown he went for was from across the galaxy, and it was easy to stop. When he landed his right his body was already miles away because he was anticipating getting hit. Those few seconds where he could have landed something behind the right were gone. Francis was already reseted and ready to go. Stipe had no game plan and fought scared

You’re right. Stipe looked so, so hesitant and always expecting the worst in this fight. I remember noticing it immediately when I watched it live. I love Stipe but I knew he was fucked when it came out that they were fighting in the small octagon, but watching his demeanor from the start of the fight drove it home. Francis is fucking intimidating, and a francis who’s terrifed to lose to you again is way scarier

@@Bumbaclartios When you are scared the best Course of action is to clinch or go for the takedown. Once you get dirty fighting becomes easy as breathing. Stipe just couldn't get started. He should have committed to the clinch or grappling. Francis is used to finishing his fights quick, so if you take him to deeper waters the speed of his punches gets diminished considerably. This fight just reminds me of Shogun Rua. In his last fight, Shogun Rua landed a nice right on his opponent, but he is so used to his punches missing or doing no damage than when he landed the punch and hurt his opponent, it took him a second and you can see the look of disbelief in his face, but worse there was no killing instinct. He is so used to getting counter that He didn't go after the wounded wolf. He actually stare at him for awhile allowing the guy to recover, and that's why Shogun loss that fight and that's why stipe was already across the galaxy when he landed that punch by the time he realized it was significant the impact from that punch was gone.

Миочич зашуганный вышел, исход практически очевиден был. Все эти "дружеские рукопожатия" через каждых 2 минуты выдают ментально сломленного человека - а сопернику только добавляют уверенности. Миочич по ходу забыл, что он не на дружеский спаринг выходит, а в углу противника стоит чел, который обещал оторвать ему голову...

Стоило Френсису не лететь на него и быть сдержаннее, то Стипе оказалось нечего предложить. Френсис выиграл чисто на технике. Но ту пицы до сих пор думаю что Френсис колхозник...

@@masterpiece5273 На самом деле Стипе очень долго держался после таких пропущенных плюх. Любой другой уже бы упал в нокаут. Но Стипе крепкий боец по сути. Те же бойцы кто дрался с Нганну, отлетали очень быстро. Стипе перегорел как мне кажеться. Боялся очень сильно Френсиса.

I personally think that Jones avoided Francis on purpose, he knew that this would be his toughest fight and after 3 years away almost impossible to win. So he deliberately waited until Francis is gone.

@@FinnMMA Easier said than done. For Jones to sub him, he actually have to wrestle him. And for him try wrestle, he has to get closer to Francis. And Francis has almost equal reach to Jones, but much faster hands. Jones was constantly getting tagged by DC. His lack of head movement and footwork would make it easier for Francis to fracture several bones in his face with one punch.

I’m not some big Miocic fan but he took so many wicked shots that hit clean from probably the heaviest puncher on the planet (all due respect to Deborah Wilder) with 4 ounce gloves. This is the type of stuff that leads to CTE. Stipe is turning 40. He’s made a few million and he’s been around for a while now. He also doesn’t live a flashy lifestyle and he’s not some young kid buying diamond jewelry. Don’t wanna see anyone get hurt but when it’s punches from heavyweights all bets are off. Nothing is more heartbreaking than seeing the end of Muhammad Ali

Wow, you could tell Ngannou made Stipe pay for coming in with the take down. The entire rest of the fight, Stipe has a look on his face of "Okay, I gotta be way more careful cause he's going to punch me out. And I'm not sure if I should try that again".

Да, подтянул защиту от тейкдаунов, подтянул борьбу. Теперь он реально гроза тяжелого веса. Но поединок с Ганом показал, что в ударке он не самый техничный и быстрый. По сути, по Гану он вообще ни разу не попал. Победил только за счёт залёживания. Ещё против Фьюри боксировать собирался. Это было бы просто одностороннее избиение.

Stipe was trying to lure Ngannou to swing as hard as he can and miss. Every time an opponent misses a fully swung punch, it either makes them tired and thus less efficient as the 25 minutes continue or it opens up a window to close the distance and attempt a takedown. Stipe really didn't want to exchange with Ngnannou and the gameplan was solid. The problem is that Ngannou ruined it completely when he either didn't throw punches with full force (and when he did, they hit Stipe badly) OR when Stipe managed to close the distance, Ngannou worked on his wrestling and neutralized it as well. The fact that Stipe eventually engaged with him in the end shows that he became desperate when his gameplan didn't work. So basically, as hard as it is to admit, Ngannou dominated Stipe in every aspect. Stipe has a case for a rematch and putting on some muscle and weight can actually help him overcome Ngannous wrestling because it did play a factor, but I honestly don't think that it would be enough.
