Survival was key to the gameplan, no doubt. Don't get smashed into a nap the way Gamebread did. Usman is a vicious swinger, elite level power. Strickland has a sturdy chin, strong defensive fighter.

Samuel Peter is the one that popularized "the Nigerian nightmares" in Nigeria as we are not interested in Rugby, he was a heavyweight champion in boxing (WBC). And they don't seem to mind. Oh I forgot, that Nickname doesn't seem much like anybody's intellectual property. So it's not a big deal. If you are a Nigerian and a badass at what you do, you can be a Nigerian nightmare too.

1st of all, regardless of his relationship with Adesanya, its two different weight classes. Usman was only concerned with dominating the welterweight class, which he did impressively for quite a while. He nerver expressed any interest in moving up to middleweight before Adesanya's presence or after.

Total dominance both in grappling and boxing. It is important to note that Sean is not as good as he is today but you can’t take the greatness of Kamaru away. Sean was scared to death. Also note that Sean moved up weight to Welterweight and won his first two fights before Usman stopped his tiny win streak. This is sheer utter dominance!

I knew about the fight as I saw highlights between Usman and Strickland few years ago and when I tried looking up the fight the only videos I saw were 3 years old but this was definitely a few years ago about looking up the exact date.

Strickland completely changed his training and style since this fight. Usman is still great and may win today as well, but it wouldn’t look like this. This version of him never would’ve beat Adesanya. This was 2017- things change.

@@larrytate1657I get that. Strickland has trained with lots of wrestlers since, including some of the best. I’m saying look at his style. His fighting stance, timing, distance management, and obviously his size and build- totally different. Not the same fighter.

😂 lol yo same here I was like wtffff I mean I’m not master of ufc but I follow pretty closely and never knew these two fought and Strickland was verrry disappointing for me in this fight as far as bunch of other fights I hate how laid back he can be puts more effort into sparring KZbinrs I’ve never seen him go so hard then on KZbinrs and then steps in a ufc ring n throws like. Totals of 40 punches in a whole entire fight wtfff 😤 very frustrating to watch
