Max will get finished man. He barely took those big shots from Dustin this time. He's absorbed a lot more strikes since then especially from his 3rd fight with Volk. When you add up the KO from Ilia you can't expect his chin to hold up like it did here. It won't. He can't play it safe with Dustin, one of the best boxers in the sport. Dustin is going to find your chin one way or the other. Max is losing the bmf title come July and that's that.

@xchanchu I don't know, bro. Ilia is extremely hittable and Dustin has great power and precision. That's why I say it would be a good fight. I think people are overestimating Ilia's abilities. Power is his best attribute, but moving up a division is really going to test him. I definitely don't see him beating Islam.

I want Max to win just because Dustin is retiring, so a win won't matter for his career. I want Max to go on a title run, but just like Ilia, I don't see Max beating Islam. We're in for some great fights regardless of the outcome.

@Mindless_Ape well, that's the thing. Max has demonstrated laser focus and more cautious and technical approaches in some of his more recent fights, but against Dustin that means he probably loses a decision. Dustin ends up landing the better shots if Max tries that.

I don't even understand why yall are so on about Ilia-Max. It was a fight of the decade. Max got knocked out clean cause he got clipped clean with a lot of power. It's not because his chin just went suddenly half a decade after the damage from a fight, and it's not because Topuria is some kind of superhero. 2 great boxers went at it and one went out. Has happened a million times before. Nothing more to it. A clean hit.

Dustin has just as much power, if not more, than Ilia, and he hit Max with multiple clean, on-the-button, power shots in this fight, and Max was not KO'd. Cumulative head hits do actually erode your capacity to take shots. That, in conjunction with the length of Max's career, for sure was a factor in his fight with Ilia. That does not degrade or take anything away from Ilias win but it's just moronic to think it was not a factor at all.

His setups and ability to cut off the octagon and corner his opponent is also a big factor. So yeah it's not that the punch itself is that hard. It's just all those other factors make that one punch so much more effective
