@yardtoot4780 How old was Rory at this point? Not saying it's impossible he was using anything, testing wasn't as rigorous back then so plenty of guys managed to use "enhancers" without pinging on tests, but Rory didn't look obviously jacked the way anabolics use tends to cause, so acne alone isn't really sufficient to conclude he was juicing. Any other evidence for reaching that conclusion?

@@violent_bebop9687Rory was a real beast, and fought Lawler at Robbie's peak - Lawler was really determined not to lose the title that night, I don't know if a different strategy would have mattered. Both men took a beating few others could have endured. It was at times hard to watch - maybe the hardest title fight in MMA? Yes, I think so. Both fighters became MMA idols that night.

@@boost7983Agreed, it was a legendary fight trading hit after hit. Robbie drew him into a brawl, with every fck you hit. Rory did not back down, with every fck you counter. I was shocked, tri star corner let Rory brawl Robbie to the death. It's not how GSP won his belt. That was career ending damage to both fighters too juiced to feel it. Defense wins in the long run.

After reading most of the comments, seems like no one remembers why this fight even happened This was the biggest North American event ever, it was like a first International Fight Week…massive crowd after a two day fan expo - GSP vs. Jake Shields as the main event. Rory, GSP’s protege, was supposed to fight the guy that won TUF 9 but he pulled out. Nate stepped up last minute to save the fight for Rory so he could still be on the card in Canada. I don’t care how the fight played out, it’s just another example of Nate being awesome for the UFC.

@@strangeone7198 dude are you new to mma ??? Nate was a 155er before conor fights , and conor was a big 145er . Conor was too big for 145 and had a full camp to fight the 155 champ . Then when rda ( 155 champ) pulled out , they called another 155er but it was on short notice , 10 days , so nate didnt have time to cut and fight happened at welterweight. Nate had no camp. Both of them didnt even make 170 at the weigh in's . There was no 20 pounds difference 😂😂😂

commentators must be blind. Excellent defense? No, Nate just has no strength to lift the guy or drag him by one leg to take him down. Nate mostly just tries to box. He's constantly holding his arms out saying cmon but all the while getting kicked.

Diaz has always been second-tier. Fans loved him, he had attitude etc, he just was never a top class fighter. But he was a helluva punching bag, that man could take a beating, it became his specialty.

I highly disagree. Nate was top tier but only after about 8 minutes into the fight. So if that first 8 minutes wasn’t pleasant enough, the last few rounds were going to be ugly for the most part.

@@Jiu-Jitsu-Robot That's a good honest analysis. I always thought they were momentum fighters like BJ Penn. If they weren't winning midway through round two, it wasn't going to happen. Unless I'm remembering wrong, neither the Diaz brothers or Penn ever had a come from behind victory.

@@Jiu-Jitsu-Robot yeah i get it, slow starter. Hey he fought professionally for 12+ years. How much of that time did he spend as world champion in any weight class. How many years has it been since he was top 5 ranked (if it wasnt the majority of his career, he aint top tier). He’s a very tough guy and fun to watch, but a decade from now is he one of say the top 10 fighters from the 2010-2025 period that most fans will remember?
