This fight needs more recognition as one of the best 1 round fights of all time. Multiple knockdowns, multiple times getting rocked, submission finish. Great fight, got robbed of FOTN that night.

It's not that complicated, it's because charles uses a muay thai stance which is very good against leg choppers like justin. The reason as to why you don't see a lot of fighters using this stance is because it's not that great against takedown but Charles makes it work as he wants his opponents to shoot.

That's the shitty part of MMA today where people can't go for grounded knees for soccer kicks once they stun a guy to the ground. Literally removes the momentum. If that rule wasn't there Justin would've easily soccer kicked Charles.

Same thing with Islam's first loss and Ankalaev's loss to Paul Craig, both of them said that those losses turned them into better fighters and they both went on huge winning streaks after, same as Charles. Sometimes losing a fight is a good thing. But the difference is that Oliveira has like a dozen losses and still turned his career around

Oliveira vs Chandler UFC 262 May 2021 Chandler vs Gaethje UFC 268 Nov 2021 Oliveira vs Poirier UFC 269 Dec 2021 Oliveira vs Gaethje UFC 274 May 2022 Chandler vs Ferguson UFC 274 May 2022 Chandler vs Poirier UFC 281 Nov 2022 Gaethje vs Fiziev UFC 286 Mar 2023 Oliveira vs Dariush UFC 289 June 2023 Gaethje vs Poirier 2 UFC 291 July 2023 Oliveira vs Makhachev 2 UFC 294 Oct 2023 We've been absolutely spoiled by these fighters for the last 2 years. Best saga of the UFC I've experienced so far. If you're new to UFC, I highly recommend watching all these fights in order. I hope Oliveira wins the belt back in October!

He is very sweet. He just fights to win. If he wins, he celebrates it crying his eyes out and running through he entire hall. If he loses, you can see how much it hurts him. Fighting and winning means a lot to him, since he seems to be really emotional. I like him

Всем привет)) Красивый бой)) Видно что Оливейра чётко, спокойно, сфокусированно вёл бой. Гейтжи был рамазан немного - проваливался в ударах. Оливейра откровенно просил Гейтжи перейти в борьбу. На 3.12 первого раунда прямо шепнул его на канвас)))) Моё мнение что Гейтжи мог бы выиграть этот бой только случайным попаданием в голову в нокаут. Оливейра его прилично выше уровнем. Спасибо за бой)) Всем добра))

Those who are stopping by this video prior to Charles's match up with Topuria this weekend, tell me if you agree... The public/media, etc are MASSIVELY underestimating Charles. Look at the way he handled a power-puncher like Gaethje. He got hit with maybe one or two leg kicks and then timed every subsequent attempt by simply lifting his outside leg and stepping past to land big shots on Justin. Yes, Justin caught him once or twice, but it feels like if Ilia lands (which he probably will) he almost needs to sleep Charles otherwise Charles is getting back up and timing him. If Charles can then land or if it goes to the ground we all know Do Bronx can submit him. I think Charles should be favorite against Topuria.

Oliveria didn’t deserve to have the belt stripped by the UFC just for not making .5lbs. It’s happened twice in believe in past by the defending champ and their belts weren’t stripped. Now he mayve missed weight twice before but making weight 19/22 times is consistent enough in my books. Especially because we’ve rarely seen a defending champ fight with the aggression and intent to finish fights like Oliveria when he was on his 13 win winning streak. Man was a beast and I believe he could beat Islam in a rematch which I really hope he gets within the next yr cus any later and he will be well past his prime
