The most brutal fight I've ever seen. The fact that Don's mouth guard fell out half way through the first round and they let him finish the round without it is wild.

The fight only went 1 round. The reason the ref stopped the fight was so the doctor could look at Takayama's eye, wasn't the end of the round

the respect don frye has for takayama san can not be overstated. this is his personal favorite fight of his whole career and he would rather DIE than speak one bad word of takayama. a true warrior that gave him the fight of his life.

Don Frye is such an honorable man. When he talks about this fight, and talks about his respect for Takayama-san, he almost gets emotional. This is truly one of the greatest fights in MMA. And the story of their friendship afterward just adds to how special it is.

Macgregor woulda tapped, Strickland woulda tapped, JJ would take a knee, Francis woulda been ko'd. The Diaz boys woulda slapped till they died, Khabib woulda died going for a leg, Roid rage Lesnar woulda tapped. Few real warriors left because they know the judges dont want blood on their hands. I'm so glad Don continues to check up on Takayama. I feel bad for what happened to him, This fight was a brutal and beautiful event. Even though the two are great friends, when they are staring each other down in the preamble to the fight you can practically hear what their eyes are saying. Just straight up "I'm going to beat you down"

Don Fryes performance was three times the skill and quality. Yushihiro completely and utterly relies on hugging 2 minutes into mma fights, wasn’t even a competition in my opinion.
