Wow what an incredible fight. Max fought a few great rounds in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. I think he deserved the win here. Volkanovski definitely won rounds 4 and 5, but I don't think it should have been his win.

I think Max earned the win. Never leave it up to the judges.

Again I watched this and even tried to give Volk the benefit of the doubt, but man he lost this fight. I believe that it screwed Max out of the spirit he needed to face the inevitable trilogy. I believe if he'd gone into the third fight as the champ it would have been very different. It is what it is though, and Volk has made me a believer. He's the real deal!

Volk is my favourite UFC fighter and even I can say Max took this 3-2. In the end though Volk would have won the trilogy 2-1 and being strongly cemented after the 3rd fight

As a fan of both fighters it’s clear that this fight directly hinges on the 3rd round. Point blank to me it’s clear that Max won rounds 1 and 2, and Volk won 4 and 5. 3 being the deciding round but ultimately MMA judging is so ticky-tacky that i can see them giving it to either guy. Great fight and i don’t think it’s a massive robbery by any stretch. The bias commentating towards Max does however make it hard to really judge how each round goes too. If i had to to pick a winner of the third and ultimately the winner of the match, it’s Max. It’s obvious Volk is pushing the pace at the end of the 4th and the whole fifth bc in his head he believed he was down on the cards. It’s a robbery but not insanely horrible.

Just rewatched this fight again, it’s clear this fight comes down to the third round and although Holloway out struck volk in the 3rd, it seemed as though volk was the one landing the more damaging strikes and had a little bit of control time. That’s why I think volk won this one.

Но явно расслабился в боях с Ортегой и Зомби, плюс наверное уже измотан этим бесконечным противостоянием с Максом)) Макс в эмбедане говорил что работает на кардио и физикой, то есть у него будет большая мышечная масса - что даст взрыв. Вопрос будет только в весосгонке, как она пройдет, Алекс не высокий, ему будет проще сделать вес, а вот что у Макса из-за этого проблемы бывают - мы знаем. В прогнозе склоняюсь к победе апперкотом Макса Холлоуэйя, глухой КО в первых раундах. Либо так, либо будет битва. Максу пора показать свой интеллект и что он прибавил На тоненького победить не получится) Кто навяжет свой бой, свой стиль работы неудобный для соперника, хотя она оба уже к друг другу адаптировались, тем не менее пропускают тяжелые удары. never watched this fight but im a fan of both, im gonna try to score it R1: 10-9 holloway (10-9 holloway) pretty tit for tat for most of it, alex had some moments, holloway had some more, and the end of round sequence for holloway makes it clear imo R2: 10-9 holloway (20-18 holloway) (by the way, wtf happened at 8:11 ??) honestly really similar to round 1, fairly tit for tat, except holloway had about three moments during the round which clearly make me give it to him R3: 10-9 Volk (29-28 holloway) really tough to score, holloway slightly outstruck (and i mean slightly) but volk had a bit of control in the clinch, was a bit more aggressive, and landed a few combos R4: 10-9 Volk (38 - 38 Draw) really close again, actually kinda like a reverse round three, holloway had the moments while volk outstruck, but volk outstruck by a decent bit more than holloway did in r3 R5: 10-9 Volk (48-47 Volk) close round but the takedown secured it for volk imo Overall 48-47 Volk, but if we went off clear rounds or if we had a more nuanced scoring system its holloway. For example if we could judge the rounds with decimals, id probably have scored it something like 10-8.8 holloway 10-8.5 holloway 10-9.8 volk 10-9.3 volk 10-8.8 volk for holloway 47.9 / 47.3, but we dont have that nuanced score card so volk wins 48 / 47

This should be a draw. Max definitely didn't get robbed, but it could've gone either way. Draws should be a more acceptable outcome for UFC fights.

Clearly holloway won this fight. Could have made the first round a 10/8. Alex was dropped twice. Should have been a trilogy fight. I dont know how the judges mess this up so bad. They should have live round scoring. It would make the fights better as well im sure of it. Guy knows he down in score, he has to come out to win. If its a guessing game, doesnt work as well i think.

Such a close 3rd round I really have no idea who won. Huge fan of both guys, but I really don't know. Max got the knockdowns, but in MMA it's not a 10-8 round unless you do a huge amount of damage or control them on the ground for basically the entire round. That didn't happen. If draws were possible without 10-8s or point deductions, I'd call it a draw. So fricken close.

Round 1-10-9 Holloway. Volk dominating the leg kicks but the Kick at the end from Max and the little flurry’s earlier on won the round. Round 2-10-9 Max. Landed better shots early on caught him with good flurry’s and dropped him with the uppercut to give the round. Round3-10-9 Volk. Cleaner shots good leg kicks had a little bit of control time edging him the round. (Closer though) Round4-10-9 Max. Another close round but Max did well to get up straight after the TD and Hurt Volk early on with some good strikes. In clinch landed 3 good uppercuts too. Round5- 10-9 Volk did well in last with the takedowns and landed clean shots edging him the round. Total- 49-47 Max
